Birds Look Like Old Selves In Postseason Debut, Dismantle Giants Yet Again

by

Jalen Hurts looked just fine despite his nagging shoulder and the Eagles are back in the NFC Championship game for the second time in the last six seasons.

Hurts and the Eagles showed no rust after the bye week as they dismantled the NFC East rival Giants, 38-7, in an NFC Divisional game at the Linc on Saturday night, and now the Eagles are one win away from going to the Super Bowl.

Hurts, who’s been dealing with a shoulder sprain since Week 15, tossed a touchdown to Dallas Goedert to cap the opening drive and another to DeVonta Smith on the next possession for a 14-0 lead. The Eagles scored touchdowns on two of their next three drives to go up 28-0 before halftime, a slaughtering reminiscent of their 48-22 win over the Giants in Week 14.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni earned his first postseason win and the top-seeded Eagles will welcome the winner of Sunday’s Divisional game between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys in the other NFC Divisional game.

The NFC Championship will kick off at 3 p.m. next Sunday. The Eagles, who won their first Super Bowl in 2017, can return with an entirely new head coach and starting quarterback with another win.
