Window Opened For Huff
EDGE Could Play Vs. Commanders
The Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday announced that EDGE Bryce Huff has been placed into the 21-day practice window, potentially making him eligible to play Sunday’s Week 16 road game against the Washington Commanders.
Huff was placed on Injured Reserve on Nov. 22 and underwent a procedure on his wrist, keeping him out of the team’s past four games.
With just 2.5 sacks this season and four total quarterback hits, Huff hasn’t produced as expected given the massive free-agent contract he signed in the offseason after a 10-sack season in 2023 and 17.5 total sacks in his first four seasons with the Jets, but the Eagles need depth at the position.
Without Huff, and with EDGE Brandon Graham out for the season with torn triceps, the Eagles have been using a three-man EDGE rotation of Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith and rookie third-rounder Jalyx Hunt.
If he’s activated back onto the 53-man roster for Sunday’s game in Landover, Md., Huff’s presence would allow defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to rotate in another body and keeps legs more fresh.
The Eagles have three weeks to activate Huff onto the 53-man roster or place him on season-ending injured reserve.
In other moves, the Eagles brought back tight end Kevin Foelsch to the practice squad.
