Brown Out Of Practice
Hammy Hampering Star WR; Availability For ATL Uncertain
Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who popped up on Friday’s post-practice injury report because of a hamstring injury, wasn’t spotted by reporters at the start of Saturday’s practice.
The Eagles play the Falcons on Monday night at the Linc and won’t practice Sunday.
In his press conference, Nick Sirianni said Brown “just got a little tight in practice yesterday,” referring to Friday’s session, and added that “we’ll see how that goes” in terms of the Brown’s availability against Atlanta.
Brown was listed as questionable to play against the Falcons on the team’s final injury report.
Sirianni also said before practice the team would be cautious with Brown, which explains why he didn’t practice.
Also, rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson missed Saturday’s practice because of a hamstring injury, and is also questionable to play against the Falcons.
If the Eagles are without three-time Pro Bowl wideout Brown, they’ll have to fill the void with a combination of Jahan Dotson and third-year pro Britain Covey to play alongside No. 2 receiver DeVonta Smith. They could also elevate veteran receiver Parris Campbell from the practice squad.
Brown has played in all 34 regular-season games in his first two years with the Eagles after coming over from the Titans in a trade that included the Eagles sending a first-round pick.
Brown missed last year’s NFC Wild Card game against the Bucs, a 32-9 Eagles loss, because of a knee injury he sustained in the season finale.
