Geoff Mosher: “I like the kid’s talent, just don’t love the inconsistency.”

Adam Caplan: “He’s really not a starting quality player, the more information I got…The coaches I spoke to loved his college tape. They understood he’s not fast, long strider, okay short area quickness, big body, run after the catch, good fit for the West Coast offense. He was given chance after chance.”

Mosher: “One thing I was told, Howie Roseman liked Wicks a lot coming out of Virginia that year in the draft.”

Sean Mannion

Caplan: “(Wicks) knows the offensive coordinator. We don’t know exactly the percentage breakdown of is this going to be a pure Shanahan, pure McVay, combination of both. We just knows the language is changing. He’ll absolutely know the West Coast verbiage.”

Mosher: “It’ll be interesting as the years go by to see if the LaFleur offense becomes a thing. His offense is under that Shanahan/McVay tree, but he’s more like McVay where he does stuff that is different. He doesn’t always run wide zone, he’ll run gap and power because he has a great inside runner in Josh Jacobs. His passing game has RPOs in it.”

Johnny Wilson

Mosher: “Big comeback year for Johnny Wilson now with the room starting to get crowded. He can play special teams along with being the blocking receiver. When you’re talking about making this team as a backup receiver, special teams is important.”

DeVonta Smith

Caplan: “When he lines up inside, he’s pretty good.”

Mosher: “He is a very good slot receiver because he’s such a great route technician. The only reason earlier in his career that the Eagles really didn’t want to force feed him into the slot was more because of his knees and his build.”
