‘Huge He Says He’s Playing’
ITB: Eagles Need Players to Return to Form for Turnaround
The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to right the ship following two consecutive losses.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher dove into the latest transaction and injury news.

Za’Darius Smith
Adam Caplan: “Players generally retire at three times: right after the season’s over, right before the draft, or right before training camp. This is crazy. If you look at the snap counts, not only did he play less than Azeez Ojulari, he didn’t start last week. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, but that was odd.”
Geoff Mosher: “Za’Darius Smith was not only probably their most productive pass rusher over the past three weeks, but also by far their biggest guy at 6’4, 270. Right now, without him, you’re looking at a 226-pound (Josh) Uche, a 253-pound Jalyx Hunt, a 240-pound Azeez Ojulari and if Patrick Johnson gets in, he’s about 245.”
Jalen Carter
Caplan: “It’s absolutely huge that Carter says he’s playing. He has to get cleared medically, but the fact that he took starter’s reps, almost all of them on Wednesday, is huge. Unless he has a setback, he’s playing.”
Mosher: “I suspected he would start off limited, but the fact that he went straight to full is pretty good.”
Quinyon Mitchell
Caplan: “There’s a chance he plays. The fact that he’s out there gives you some hope. He is going to have to have a full practice by Friday. The chances of him playing are next to none if he doesn’t have a full practice.”
Offensive Line
Mosher: “There are some unavoidable issues with the offensive line and its overall health and strength that complicate the talent that they have…Forget run the ball explosively, they haven’t been able to run the ball effectively.”
Caplan: “There’s clearly something wrong physically with a bunch of these guys. They’re just a little bit off, but why is this happening every week?”
