ITB: How Eagles Matchup Against the Buccaneers is Shaping Up

by

Major developments are forming for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Week 4.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided a midweek update ahead of their matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jalen Carter

Geoff Mosher: “This was Aaron Donald-esque as far as one person completely wrecking…He dominated that game in a way that I haven’t seen in a long time out of one player. If he does that 14 out of 17 weeks in a season,

Adam Caplan: “Jalen Carter is as good as he wants to be if he decides, like he just did this game. He was obviously embarrassed by the way he played against Atlanta and he has pride. It was just absurd what he did [against the Saints]…He was really unstoppable.”

Mosher: “When guys have concussions, they have to go through the concussion protocol…some guys get through it quicker than others, but it’s pretty infrequent that a guy makes it back if it’s a Sunday-to-Sunday.”

Caplan: “The length of recovery from concussions is actually longer now and the league likes that because it means guys are being honest.”

Saquon Barkley

Caplan: “The thing that he is doing way better, because the big criticism of him from a tape standpoint is he’s not a second-level runner, not real instinctive, he’s got to be blocked up for him or he’s not going to get there. But his second level and the way he has been able to squeeze the hole, I don’t know what’s going on, but he has taken his game to another level, one that we had not seen before.”

Mosher: “He is running well now, and when you’re down a lot of offensive chips, you may need to put the ball in hands a little bit more as a runner.”
