ITB Postgame Live: Factors in the Eagles' Comeback Win
A lot was learned about the Philadelphia Eagles’ mental fortitude in the 33-26 comeback victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
On the Week 3 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Live,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan gave their instant takeaways from the victory.

Jalen Hurts
Geoff Mosher: “We know that Jalen Hurts doesn’t love to throw to the middle of the field, but we also know that when guys are open, he typically throws those balls in the middle of the field…He got so used to not having to do it that he didn’t. In the third quarter, it happened with the (A.J.) Brown slant and then the 33-yard touchdown to (Dallas) Goedert. They all realized that if they are going to give you all of that underneath, take it.”
Fred Johnson
Mosher: “You gave up something for that [swing tackle] role, why didn’t you play him [in the first half]? As soon as he came in, the offense just started moving down the field.”
Adam Caplan: “That was a factor in the win. What he did was he settled things down. He has been an incredible story of igniting his career which he didn’t really have until he came to Philly. They really needed him because with Lane (Johnson’s) injury, they needed something.”
Jordan Davis
Mosher: “I thought Jordan Davis was not only huge from [blocked field goals] standpoint, but he also had two enormous stops in this game: third-and-two on Matthew Stafford and then on fourth-and-one, he swims inside Kevin Dotson and just knocks Kyren Williams in his tracks. He’s the reason for the win.”
Caplan: “He was part of the awful run defense, let’s call it like it is. But he’s mentally tough. The kid cares. He came in big time.”
Vic Fangio
Mosher: “For two weeks straight now, Vic Fangio is blitzing at a much higher percentage than normal…looking back on it, (Matthew) Stafford’s numbers were bad and he missed about six or seven throws. I think that had a lot to do with either pressure or the fear or threat of pressure.”
