Quez Comeback?
Goedert, Evans, Williams Out in Estimated Practice Report; Watkins' 21-Day Window Opens
Ahead of the Week 12 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles’ initial injury report raised some concern for a number of players but has set the stage for a potential return.
Defensive end Derek Barnett (personal), tight ends Dallas Goedert (forearm) and Grant Calcaterra (ankle), safety Justin Evans (knee), and defensive tackle Milton Williams (concussion) were all listed as non-participants in the report, estimated from the team’s walkthrough.
Barnett and Goedert had missed the Monday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Goedert’s absence is expected to go at least another week, though it can be seen as a positive sign that he has not been placed on injured reserve, which was thought to be in the cards when he broke his forearm in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Evans, who has not yet been activated from injured reserve, had practiced in limited fashion during the previous week when his 21-day practice window opened.
Williams, who had a strong start against the Chiefs, faces an uphill battle to play on a shorter rest after leaving during the first half of Monday night’s game.
Prior to practice, the Eagles opened up the 21-day practice window for wide receiver Quez Watkins, who has missed the last five games due on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury.
Watkins was listed as limited in the walkthrough, as were fellow receivers A.J. Brown (thigh) and Julio Jones (knee), as well as starting running back D’Andre Swift (ankle).
It has been a nagging hamstring injury for the 25-year-old, who has only played a full share of snaps in two games: Week 1 and 5.
