ITB: Should Banged Up Birds Be Wary of Bucs?

by

The 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles are hitting the road to take on the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Monday night matchup.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided the latest injury and lineup updates and gave their final score predictions.

DeVonta Smith

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith will play in Week 3 after being limited in practice with an injury

Boston Scott

Adam Caplan: “You are allowed to practice in the concussion protocol. He was progressing to a certain point, but he was not cleared to play. But the good thing is he did some things on the field.”

Kenny Gainwell

Geoff Mosher: “He is back in. He carries no injury designation so he is good to go. It will be interesting to see what is going to be the carries divvied between Gainwell and D’Andre Swift.”

DeVonta Smith

Caplan: “Here is the thing with the thigh and hamstring injuries. They are both new, but we don’t know if it is the same leg. He took all of the first-team reps in Saturday’s practice that he would normally take in a final practice, so he is cleared to play.”

Olamide Zaccheaus

Mosher: “With Quez Watkins out, Zaccheaus will be the number three receiver. He will see some time in the slot. The way I think this matchup is going to go, I feel like there will be some opportunities for him in the middle of the field to catch the ball.”

Final Score Prediction

Caplan: “We don’t know if Carlton Davis is going to play or not. If for some reason both Vita Vea and Davis are out, to me this is a 10 point game or more. Right now, I am going 23-17, Eagles.”

Mosher: “I don’t know what it is about Raymond James Stadium, but whenever the Eagles are playing there, it is not the easiest of their games. I think the Eagles are the better team and on most occasions I think the Eagles would win if they played on a neutral field. But for whatever reason, I don’t like the vibe of the game. I think the Buccaneers are going to win, I’m not saying they are the better team. I think the Bucs are going to win 26-23.”
