‘Let Geno Cook’

ITB: Can Birds Take Advantage of Seattle Matchups?

by

The Philadelphia Eagles will look to get back on track on Monday night against a vulnerable team fighting for their playoff lives.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher previewed the matchup against the Seattle Seahawks and gave their final score predictions.

Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith continues his career resurgence.

Seahawks Secondary

Geoff Mosher: “If they are going to play Devon Weatherspoon in the slot, that is a waste of his talent. That means DeVonta Smith is matched up against Tre Brown.”

Adam Caplan: “You can go after Jamal Adams, if they line him up against Dallas Goedert you can go after him. Quandre Diggs is a very good player.”

 Seahawks Linebackers

Mosher: “The key for me is can they get Jalen Hurts involved with some of those isolation runs that he has up the middle? Because Seattle’s linebackers are pretty good. Bobby Wagner is very smart and knows where to be and Jordyn Brooks is fast and quick.”

Geno Smith

Caplan: “I give the guy credit. He played great two weeks ago in that Dallas game. He got knocked around and hit but did a great job. If he plays, I’m sure the Eagles want to test his movement with that groin injury.”

Mosher: “I see that the Seahawks are passing at a 64% clip in the first half which puts them in the top 10. I have to say Pete Carroll is letting Geno cook.”

Seahawks Run Game

Caplan: “The backfield is split between Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Walker is their explosive guy and lead back. If they get a lead in the fourth quarter, Charbonnet is going to be the guy.”

Mosher: “Against Dallas, the Eagles were rarely in their five-man front, they were mostly in their four-man front. You wonder if Seattle will try to get the Eagles in more four-man fronts by playing a lot of 11 personnel and then trying to run.”

Final Score Predictions

Caplan: “I have it Eagles 30, Seahawks 27.”

Mosher: “I think the Eagles get back on track. I expect the pass rush to come alive and they get some turnovers because of it and I think the Eagles are going to score points against this defense. The Eagles will win 34-24 and break that long losing streak against the Seahawks.”
