Eagles Release Evans, Sermon

Eagles Release Rashaan Evans from Practice Squad and Trey Sermon from IR

by

After a few short days, linebacker Rashaan Evans’ time on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad has come to an end, with the team officially announcing his release on Friday.

Trey Sermon

Eagles RB Trey Sermon’s time with the team has come to an end for now

Evans was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday as part of a series of corresponding moves that placed Nakobe Dean on injured reserve and signed Nic Morrow to the 53-man roster.

The Eagles seem more than comfortable with Morrow on the field next to Zach Cunningham, even entrusting him with the green dot against the Minnesota Vikings, though the team remains thin at the coverage linebacker spot with Christian Elliss as the only other on the 53 and Ben VanSumeren on the practice squad.

In another roster move, the team released Trey Sermon from injured reserve, after being waived/injured at the end of the offseason.

Despite being given opportunity to make the team in the preseason, Sermon could not stand out in a crowded running back room that is already struggling to find reps for the four on the active roster.
