ST Coach Receives Extension
The lone Philadelphia Eagles’ coordinator to remain from 2023 has received a contract extension.
According to NFL Network, the team has agreed to new terms with Special Teams Coordinator Michael Clay.
#Eagles special teams coordinator Michael Clay, one of Philly’s impressive young coaches, has agreed to terms on a new contract extension, source said. His units were among the top in the NFL. Now all coordinators — Clay, Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore — are locked up beyond 2024.

The 32-year-old Clay has been with Head Coach Nick Sirianni since his hiring in 2021.
While his special teams units were much maligned in 2022, the team’s biggest weakness turned into one of the biggest strengths in 2023.
Under Clay’s watch, Britain Covey recorded the most punt return yards in the NFL (417) while new punter Braden Mann ranked fourth in net yards per punt (43.8) and seventh in yards per punt (49.8). Kicker Jake Elliot made a career high 93% of his field goals (seven coming from 50+) and earned First Team All Pro
