Cox and Jurgens Out, Kupp In

Final Week 5 Injury Report Shows Eagles Short on O-Line and D-Line; Rams at Full Strength

by

The Philadelphia Eagles will be missing at least four players due to injury on Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Defensive tackles Fletcher Cox (back) and Marlon Tuipuloto (triceps) as well as guard Cam Jurgens (foot) are listed as “Out” on the final injury report prior to Week 5 after missing practice the entire week.

While the Eagles deal with injuries to multiple stars, the Rams will welcome back superstar receiver Cooper Kupp

Sua Opeta will take Jurgens’ place in the starting lineup, while Cox’s injury may lead to rookie Jalen Carter recording his first NFL start after four strong games to begin his career.

Linebacker Nic Morrow, fresh off a career game, was listed as missing Friday’s practice due to personal reasons, but has no game-day designation, signaling he will fine for Sunday.

The team’s secondary is improving in health but not quite back to full strength with safety Sydney Brown (hamstring) also listed as out despite practicing all week in a limited fashion.

Punt returner Britain Covey continues to advance through concussion protocol, practicing fully on Friday and is listed as questionable.

Philadelphia will welcome back safety Justin Evans (neck) and wide receiver Quez Watkins (hamstring), who both have practiced all week and carry no injury designation.

With multiple starters missing, the Eagles will have their hands full on Sunday against a Los Angeles Rams team that has surpassed expectations thanks to the play of proven talent such as quarterback Matthew Stafford and defensive tackle Aaron Donald as well as newcomers such as rookie wideout Puka Nacua.

To add to the challenge for the Eagles, the Rams will also welcome back superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the first time in the 2023 season.
