Eagles Release DB; Open Up Spot on 53
The Philadelphia Eagles have opened up a roster spot, officially releasing cornerback Josiah Scott.

Eagles waived DB Josiah Scott
In his second stint with the team, Scott played four games, mostly on special teams. He could not find a role on defense despite multiple injuries at the nickel position, losing out to rookies Sydney Brown and Eli Ricks.
Now, the active roster stands at 52 players. The only player eligible to be activated off injured reserve would be safety Justin Evans, who is in the last of week of his 21-day practice window.
If not Evans, the spot could go to either LB Ben VanSumeren, who is out of practice squad elevations, or to a certain All-Pro linebacker who reportedly has a visit lined up.
