12 Injured Birds

12 Eagles on Initial Injury Report

by

Despite the Philadelphia Eagles having a mini-bye week following playing on Thursday Night Football, their initial injury report for Week 3 continues to grow.

Terrell Edmunds

Thursday’s injury report, their first ahead of the Monday Night Football matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, lists 12 players.

Concern at the moment is on those listed as ‘did not participate:’ Safety Terrell Edmunds (Illness), RB Boston Scott (Concussion), and Wide Receiver Quez Watkins (Hamstring).

Scott and Watkins both left Week 2’s victory over the Vikings.

While it would have been hard to imagine before the season started, Edmunds’ absence would be the most unaffordable to a banged-up Eagles secondary that will likely be without Avonte Maddox for the remainder of the season and is already struggling with multiple injuries to starters.

Safety Reed Blankenship (Ribs), Cornerback James Bradberry (Concussion), Running Back Kenny Gainwell (Ribs), who all missed Week 2, were designated as limited along with Defensive Tackle Fletcher Cox (Ribs), Linebacker Zach Cunningham (Ribs), Jordan Davis (Ankle), WR DeVonta Smith (Hamstring/Thigh), Tight End Jack Stoll (Ankle), and Defensive End Josh Sweat (Toe).

In more positive news, with nine of them only being listed as limited, including the three starters who missed the previous game, chances are their participation in practice will increase as the week goes on.
