Looking At Linebacker
Greg Cosell Sees Three-Down LBs on Free Agent Market
Desperate for off-ball linebackers, the Philadelphia Eagles could look to a free agent market filled with solid players.
On the latest “Intel With Greg Cosell” on “Inside The Birds,” legendary NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell evaluated the top free agent linebackers.
Blake Cashman
Greg Cosell: “I thought his tape was really good this year. He is one of those guys that would not be overly expensive…He is a three-down player. Based on his tape, he is a good player. I talked to his agent quite a bit at the combine, he had indicated that there is interest. I don’t know what that means, those conversations can go anywhere.”
Frankie Luvu
Cosell: “I think the tape is really good. He is a multidimensional player who can play off the ball, can rush the quarterback, is athletic, has good size. I think he is a really good player.”
Azeez Al-Shaair
Cosell: “He is another one of those solid players. He can play pretty much every snap. It would strike me that he would probably not get as much as some of the other guys and could be easily available for a one-or-two-year deal.”
Josey Jewell
Cosell: “Jewell is a little better athlete than people might think, he has been a starter in this league. We are talking about all of these guys who hit free agency because they are not special players, but they are solid.”
Drue Tranquil
Cosell: “He is really smart, really aware. When you play for Steve Spagnuolo, you do blitz so he can do that well. Just a really solid player. He is a complete, multidimensional player.”
