Line Out?

Eagles Could Be Slightly Shorthanded on Offensive and Defensive Lines in Week 5

by

Key players on the Philadelphia Eagles trenches remained missing from practice, according to the team’s Thursday injury report ahead of Week 5.

Fletcher Cox

DT Fletcher Cox could miss Sunday’s matchup against the Rams due to a back procedure.

Starting right guard Cam Jurgens (foot) and defensive tackles Fletcher Cox (back) and Marlon Tuipuloto (Triceps) were listed as “Did Not Participate.”

The Birds may very well be down two defensive tackles against the Los Angeles Rams, though they do have the deepest DT room in the league with seven on the active roster.

According to Ian Rapoport, if Cox does end up missing Sunday’s matchup, it should not take too long for him to return.

With Jurgens being described as a “week-to-week” injury by Head Coach Nick Sirianni, no change in status should be expected for the rest of the week.

While it is not ideal to be short a guard when facing Aaron Donald, Sua Opeta filled in admirably for Jurgens in Week 4.

Punt returner Britain Covey (concussion) returned to practice in a limited fashion, showing his advancement through the protocol.

Also limited was Safety Sydney Brown (hamstring). Justin Evans (neck), and Quez Watkins (hamstring) were listed as full participants, all who missed the Week 4 victory.
