‘Leaves You Wanting More’
ITB: Eagles Defense In Position to Maintain Excellence
There are plenty of reasons to believe that the Philadelphia Eagles defense will remain elite in the upcoming season.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher gave their biggest points of optimism for the defense in 2026.

Jalyx Hunt
Adam Caplan: “What he did last year leaves you wanting more in a good way…He does so many things really well, drops in coverage well, is so explosive as an edge rusher, is getting better with his technique.”
Geoff Mosher: “He has so much athletic upside and he’s already recognized a lot of that potential. I wonder if he can be that kind of guy that can move inside so that you can play more edges.”
Riq Woolen
Mosher: “I have trust in Vic Fangio…It’s obvious that he should be an upgrade over Adoree’ Jackson.”
Caplan: “He looked phenomenal in OTAs. Training camp we’re going to get a better answer.”
Jonathan Greenard
Caplan: “He has done plenty of stand-up pass rushing. I love this, their depth at edge is fantastic.”
Mosher: “He has been a big part of two really good defenses. Comes from Minnesota and before that he was with the Texans.”
Safety
Mosher: “Cooper DeJean and (Drew) Mukuba are going to be your starters…Whoever is going to be that third safety between (Marcus) Epps’ experience, (Michael) Carter’s acumen as a nickel who has been cross trained, I’m alright with that.”
Caplan: “Marcus Epps is a smart veteran, understands the defense. Michael Carter should push him if not take the job at training camp.”
Joe Kasper
Caplan: “It’s not a secret that Joe Kasper is very well thought of in football operations.”
Mosher: “It’s a huge issue of not having Christian Parker anymore…Now Joe Kasper steps into a really important role of being that guy.”
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Mosher: “I do think that there’s going to be some reason, to get Jeremiah Trotter on the field. This is a guy we have watched in practice and the time he has gotten to play, he’s just like you would expect a player’s kid to be.”
Caplan: “He has done very well behind the scenes. He’s the first guy off the bench.”
