Competition Galore
ITB: Eagles Needs on Defense
The defensive side of the ball for the Philadelphia Eagles will look a bit different than their 2024 Super Bowl team.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan evaluated the current state of the defense and further potential needs.

Inside Linebacker
Geoff Mosher: “You look at this group and it’s just glaring that they don’t really have a veteran, one of those Oren Burks type guys on the roster right now.”
Adam Caplan: “They have seven on their 90-man roster and only five are healthy.”
Cornerback
Mosher: “They have at least three people jockeying for snaps. From that standpoint, good competition.”
Caplan: “They needed competition for (Eli) Ricks, who is going to be a fourth corner if he makes the team.”
Defensive Tackle
Mosher: “It feels like they’re even younger now at this position.”
Caplan: “The oldest guy at d-tackle for them is Thomas Booker. They have enough guys, it’s just a matter of looking at the available list [of free agents] and weighing it versus the numbers they have at the position.
Safety
Mosher: “The Eagles have some really intriguing guys who are going to play on the third and fourth teams. They really do need to see what they have.”
