Plot Twist
Despite Reports – Including His Own – Of Exit, Slay Remains With Birds (For Now)
The strange saga surrounding Eagles cornerback Darius Slay appears to be nearing its end.
After reports surfaced Wednesday that the Eagles would release the Pro Bowl corner with a post-June 1 designation, even Slay suggested on social media that his time in Philly was up after his third season.
Nothing but love Philly!! Lets see where we heading next..

But per the league’s waiver wire, the Eagles never released Slay on Wednesday – and a major plot twist came later in the evening, as sources confirmed to Inside The Birds that Slay remained on the roster and there was an increasing likelihood that he would stay.
Once again, Slaytook to social media, this time indicating that he’d remain with the Eagles.
Back like I never left!!! Run it back 🦅

His wife also went to social media to echo the sentiment:
WE HERE BABY!!! 💚🦅🦅🦅

Amazingly, despite some massive free-agent losses, the Eagles could be keeping most of their secondary intact after finishing with the NFL’s top-ranked pass defense in 2022 en route to the Super Bowl.
Earlier in the day, the Eagles held onto Slay’s counterpart by re-signing James Bradberry to a three-year deal. Meanwhile, the new league year officially kicked off at 4 p.m. Wednesday with safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson still on the market.
Sources have indicated to ITB that the Eagles have wanted to retain Gardner-Johnson, who had six interceptions last year for the Eagles despite playing just eight games.
