The Philadelphia Eagles continue to fortify their roster with re-signings while making depth additions.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed the recent team signings.

Dallas Goedert

Geoff Mosher: “What I wonder is his usage for the Eagles now that they are running a new offense, Johnny Mundt is there as a blocking tight end and since Dallas did not have his best year as a blocker last year, I wonder if they can scale back a little bit on his workload.”

Adam Caplan: “You can say he wasn’t effective as he has been as a blocker, but he was healthy. Because they have (Cam) Latu and now Mundt, you don’t have to expose him there…Goedert can still run, he looked unreal in the red zone.”

Braden Mann

Mosher: “He’s really good and was sort of invaluable. As their offense struggled, how many times did we have a game where said if they weren’t flipping the field with his punts pinning the team inside the 10 and letting the Eagles defense do the work, then the game could have totally been different.”

Caplan: “He’ll make about $3.5 million which is a pretty significant raise. He is an excellent holder.”

Arnold Ebiketie

Mosher: “There’s something in there, but it has not manifested into a guy who has been consistent.”

Caplan: “Two different coaching staffs with the Falcons did not think he’s a starter. He’s what you would call a DPR, a designated pass rusher…He doesn’t solve the problem. This is a depth and competition signing.”

Jonathan Jones

Caplan: “Jonathan Jones will be their third corner, he basically replaces Adoree’ Jackson in what would have been that role. They weren’t sure what to make of Jackson when they signed him and he wound up being a starter…For the future they have nothing, other than (Quinyon) Mitchell it’s baron. For this season, it’s Mitchell, (Riq) Woolen, and Jones.”

Mosher: “I kind of like the Jones signing, he’s a veteran who has played a lot in the league. I interpreted it as there’s no certainty with Jakorian Bennett and you would lean toward they really felt like they needed experience and someone who can play.”
