Lane Johnson Remains Out; Landon Dickerson Absent from Practice

PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles returned to the NovaCare Complex practice fields on Christmas Eve for their second practice of the week, ahead of Sunday’s tilt with the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. Their normal schedule resumes Friday, where the team will hold their final practice of the week.

Consistent with Tuesday’s practice, LB Nakobe Dean (hamstring) and LG Landon Dickerson (reasons unknown at this time) and RT Lane Johnson were non-participants. While Dean was present and taking in practice as a spectator for the second consecutive day, there was no sign of Dickerson or Johnson.

Dickerson, you may remember, was listed with a calf/rest designation last Wednesday, so perhaps it’s part of the maintenance plan. The first injury report of the week comes out later today.

With Dickerson sidelined, seventh-year pro Brett Toth was first up at left guard. Whenever Dickerson has had to miss time this season, Toth has consistently been the team’s top option at left guard. Something to monitor in the coming hours and days.

In other news, there was also no sign of wide receiver A.J. Brown, though the reasoning for his absence remains unknown at this time.

As for DT Jalen Carter, who returned to practice Tuesday after missing three games in light of the shoulders procedure, the third-year pro practiced for the second consecutive day, seemingly trending in a positive direction regarding his availability Sunday afternoon.
