Secondary Enforcements

Eagles Poach Respected DBs Coach

by

The Philadelphia Eagles defense continues to build out their veteran coaching staff.

According to ESPN, the Birds are set to hire Broncos DBs coach Christian Parker in a yet-to-be-announced role.

Christian Parker

Parker, just 32-years-old, reunites with new Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who as head coach hired him in 2021 after two seasons as a defensive quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers.

Under Parker’s watch, the Broncos secondary had two All-Pros in safety Justin Simmons and cornerback Patrick Surtain II, the latter who was drafted in his first year coaching the team.

Despite his young age, Parker has earned tremendous respect in the NFL, keeping his job despite three coaching regime changes in Denver. He is already starting to get looks for a major promotion, with the Packers interviewing him at DC, per NFL Network

Parker joins Joe Kasper, expected to be hired as the Eagles’ safeties coach, to restore a defensive backfield that struggled in 2023.

The team was previously expected to hire secondary coach Karl Scott from the Seahawks, but he elected to stay in Seattle under new head coach Mike Macdonald.
