ITB Postgame: Not Clicking on Offense and Defense
The issues plaguing the Philadelphia Eagles went from bad to worse in Friday’s loss to the Chicago Bears.
On the Week 13 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Show,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed what went wrong in the 24-15 defeat.

Defensive Line
Adam Caplan: “The d-line got gashed on misdirection. We know Clint Hurtt is a really good coach and (Vic) Fangio is, but it’s like they had no answers. The Eagles did not list anyone in-game with an injury, but (Jalen) Carter got subbed a lot. (Moro) Ojomo didn’t get benched, he just got subbed. Byron Young started the second half, Ojomo struggled.”
Geoff Mosher: “I expected the Bears to come in on a windy day and try to hide the quarterback throws and run the ball. But when you talk about the elements of run that Ben Johnson designed with the counters, misdirection, I expected that to have a little bit expect. I did not think against this Eagles defensive front you were going to see multiple runs of 15, 20, 30, and 40 yards.”
Sydney Brown
Mosher: “There was a drop in the end zone that should have been a touchdown. It was the second time they targeted Sydney Brown in the red zone and the second time he got beat and the ball wasn’t caught.”
Jalen Hurts
Caplan: “(Kevin) Patullo didn’t get Hurts into a rhythm. I understand it was windy, but he still couldn’t do that. Easy throws, very simple offense. It just was bad.”
Mosher: “The third-and-eight, DeVonta Smith wide open, he didn’t hit him.”
Offensive Line
Mosher: “I don’t think you can just take offensive line injuries and say that is the reason for the team’s inability to run the ball. There are other teams that have backup offensive linemen that can run the ball better than the Eagles.”
