‘Get Involved Earlier’
ITB: Self-Scouting Eagles at Bye Week
The 2025 Philadelphia Eagles have had strong performances in recent weeks, but there is still room for improvement.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan self-scouted the Eagles at their bye week.

Outside Run Game
Geoff Mosher: “The Eagles found something in their last two games with getting their outside run a little more in gear…Even when they ran from the shotgun, outside stretch plays. Obviously, teams are keying in on their inside zone, mix in the outside runs. You get (Saquon) Barkley to the edges, all it takes is one or two blocks and you can get him off to the races.”
Adam Caplan: “We have said for a number of weeks that it’s clear that (Cam) Jurgens and (Landon) Dickerson are not right physically…The outside game, you have to keep doing it. [Last week], it looked like last year.”
Passing Game
Caplan: “I still want to see A.J. Brown involved earlier in the game. The quick slant, the play action, or the three step drop from (Jalen) Hurts. That’s where he gets the run after the catch stuff.”
Mosher: “The Eagles really have to find a way to be better on third down. They haven’t been on schedule very well…The key for them is to stay on schedule, get into no huddle, and that might mean getting the ball to A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith earlier on first down or second down.”
Jakorian Bennett
Mosher: “I don’t want to say he makes or breaks the secondary, but it’s hard to see the Eagles getting where they want to go if they have to start Adoree Jackson or (Kelee) Ringo at corner. If he can go in and play at a good enough level to start there, he has the opportunity to stabilize the secondary if he can stay healthy and get on the field and play well.”
Edge Rusher
Mosher: “(Jihaad) Campbell is getting work in practice as a nickel edge, but he hasn’t played yet as a nickel edge. But that might come depending on what happens at the trade deadline, the health of Brandon Graham, Nolan Smith coming back.”
Caplan: “If they have not made a trade for an edge, you can use (Moro) Ojomo or (Jalen) Carter as wide nines.”
