BLOCKBUSTER: DOLPHINS ACQUIRE JALEN RAMSEY

Phins Trade for Superstar CB, Shake Up AFC and NFC

by

For the second offseason in a row, the Miami Dolphins have decided to shake up the league with a blockbuster acquisition of one of the best players in the NFL.

The Dolphins have finalized a trade with the Los Angeles Rams to acquire three-time All Pro cornerback and Super Bowl LVI champion Jalen Ramsey.

Miami is no stranger to blockbuster moves in the Mike McDaniel era after trading for superstar WR Tyreek Hill in the 2022 offseason, followed by a deal for edge rusher Bradley Chubb at the subsequent midseason trade deadline.

Ramsey arrives to Miami following three-and-a-half seasons with the Rams that brought him and the team a Super Bowl before a down season in 2021.

The 28-year-old Ramsey will pair up with fellow All-Pro corner Xavien Howard on the outside, a duo that rivals the talent of the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles cornerback room featuring Darius Slay and James Bradberry.

Ramsey also joins new Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, back in charge of a unit after spending 2022 as a consultant for the NFC Champions in Philadelphia.

For the ‘Phins, they will look to continue their momentum that started in 2022, where the team jumped out to an 8-3 record and looked like a possible AFC contender before a late season road losing streak and a season-ending concussion to QB Tua Tagovailoa doomed them to a Wild Card exit.

Ramsey may ultimately not be the only superstar cornerback on the move via trade this offseason, with Eagles CB Slay given permission to seek a move after wanting a contract extension from Philadelphia.

With this trade, the market to acquire a star CB of Ramsey and Slay’s caliber is now set.
