Maddox Set To See Practice Return
Birds Slot CB Activated Into Practice Window
Eagles slot cornerback Avonte Maddox has been activated into the 21-day practice window for players on Injured Reserve, the team announced.
A hamstring injury put Maddox, considered a starter, on the shelf before the Eagles’ Week 10 game against the Washington Commanders, the first of four games he missed on IR.
Reserve defensive back Josiah Scott has filled in for Maddox and has been targeted by opponents. Maddox has an interception and fumble recovery this season along with three passes broken up.
Maddox’s return to practice doesn’t automatically pencil in the fifth-year corner onto the 53-man roster for Sunday’s NFC East showdown against the Giants at MetLife Stadium, although the Eagles have an open spot.
Maddox will have this week of practice for the team to decide if he’s physically capable of playing against the Giants.
In practice squad news, the Eagles re-signed defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and offensive tackle Roderick Johnson.
