Birds Add On Offense
Eagles Re-Sign OT Fred Johnson, Sign WR Elijah Moore
The Eagles were busy Tuesday evening, agreeing to terms on a pair of one-year deals. Retaining one of their own, veteran T Fred Johnson returns for another season, a league source confirmed the initial report from NFL Media.
The team also added to its pass-catching contingent externally, signing well-traveled WR Elijah Moore, a league sourced confirmed the NFL Media report.
The key here is Johnson, who started the final eight regular season games in place of an injured Lane Johnson, racking up a career-high 626 snaps. Johnson has been reliable when called upon and has served a vital role on game days when the line is at full strength as the swing tackle.

Can new Eagles WR Eli Moore revive his career in Philly?
Johnson, who turns 29 in June, revitalized his career since joining the Eagles and was a great story of development under previous position coach Jeff Stoutland.
Johnson tested the free-agent waters the past two offseasons in hopes of landing in a situation that offered a potentially larger role, but ultimately returns to Philadelphia. In his three seasons with the Eagles, Johnson has appeared in 41 regular season games (14 starts) and six postseason contests (one start).
Johnson adds veteran depth to what was previously an inexperienced group of reserve tackles, including 2025 draftees Cameron Williams and Myles Hinton.
As for Moore, the 2021 second-round pick represents depth and competition behind starters A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The 25-year-old split time last season with the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos. He signed with Denver’s practice squad late in the season and was elevated for the Divisional Round and AFC Championship, the latter of which he was active for.
Selected with the No. 35 overall pick by the New York Jets, Moore caught 80 passes over two seasons before being traded — along with a third-round pick — to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a second-round pick in March of 2023. The Eagles will be his fifth team.
Notably, Moore overlapped at Ole Miss with fellow Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown in 2018, and the pair remains close. That said, the Eagles tend to leave no stone unturned when it comes to filling out a roster, and adding a soon-to-be 26-year-old with tools to work with could prove to be a shrewd dart throw.
Beyond Brown and Smith, Moore joins a receiving corps that includes Hollywood Brown, Darius Cooper, Johnny Wilson, Britain Covey, Quez Watkins and Danny Gray.
In 70 games (42 starts), Moore has totaled 209 receptions, 2,274 and 9 touchdowns and 26 rushing attempts for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
