FSU CB To Visit Eagles

Jarrian Jones Coming To NovaCare

by

Looking at the Eagles’ roster with a little more two weeks before the NFL Draft, one could conclude the Eagles have added at enough positions of need in free agency to avoid rash decisions.

The one exception, of course, is cornerback, where snake-bitten veteran Avonte Maddox and roster hopeful Tyler Hall – both nickelback options – have been added to the equation.

Expecting to use the draft to secure building blocks at the position, the Eagles recently added a cornerback to their list of allotted 30 visits, with the team set to host Florida State cornerback Jarrian Jones, a source told Inside The Birds.

Jones (6-0, 190) served as a longtime boundary corner for the Seminoles before transitioning inside to play nickel in 2023, where he was masterful, showcasing the requisite instincts, movement skills, urgency and toughness to thrive at the pro level. He can essentially play anywhere in the secondary.

In 2023, Jones registered 25 tackles (five for loss), three passes defended, three interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

He was named Florida State’s “Most Improved Defensive Player” while also earning 2023 Honorable Mention All-ACC and the Bobby Bowden Leadership Award honors.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Jones produced a 4.38 40-yard dash, 39.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He’s a projected late Day 2/early Day 3 selection.
