‘Looks Totally Different’
ITB: Early Training Camp Observations
There are plenty of questions that the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to answer in the early portion of training camp.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher, Adam Caplan, and Andrew DiCecco provided intel and observations from the opening days of camp.

Jihaad Campbell
Adam Caplan: “Campbell is a minimum two weeks ahead of schedule. That’s really good. We now have to start talking about Jihaad Campbell potentially starting week 1 versus the Cowboys as an inside ‘backer.”
Geoff Mosher: “Watching Campbell after two practices, I’m looking for how he’s moving.”
Andrew DiCecco: “From my vantage point, it looked like he took every second team rep alongside Smael Mondon Jr. You see the range, the length, he finds a knack for being around the football. The first day, he made a nice play on a crossing route.”
Jalen Hurts
Mosher: “Hurts looks like he’s in really good comfort with (A.J.) Brown, (Dallas) Goedert, (DeVonta) Smith, and even Jahan Dotson.”
DiCecco: “You haven’t really seen a lot of explosive plays, but you’ve seen the timing and the accurate throws from Jalen Hurts. It looked like Jalen and A.J. Brown were in midseason form…the football rarely hits the ground with Hurts.”
Mac McWilliams
DiCecco: “I thought he did a nice job as the backup nickel to Cooper DeJean.”
Jordan Davis
Mosher: “He looks like a totally different human being. He is down 26 pounds, at 330 pounds, the lightest he has been since a sophomore at Georgia…he said he wants a bigger role and does not want to be off the field on second-and-long and third-and-long.”
Caplan: “He has never shown the ability by technique to be able to rush the passer…It has very little to do with his weight.”
DiCecco: “Jordan is taking this elevated opportunity very seriously, he’s showing up in shape. He wants to play more…The Eagles are certainly banking him on being able to make that leap.”
