ITB: Is There Enough Depth at Key Positions?

by

The Philadelphia Eagles’ offense will look much of the same in 2026, but some may be aligned for a bigger role.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed depth on offense ahead of the ’26 draft.

Andy Dalton

Geoff Mosher: “He’s making a weird salary for a number three quarterback. It’s kind of strange when you look at the depth chart.”

Adam Caplan: “$2 million of his $4 million is fully guaranteed. If he’s the backup, I would accept it if they wound up trading (Tanner) McKee. Dalton and McKee are in the last year of their deals.”

Tank Bigsby

Caplan: “He is a really good backup running back, he was terrific. I would look to bring him back [in 2027] if I’m Howie.”

Elijah Moore

Mosher: “I know there’s this thought process that they brought in Elijah Moore because he’s friends with AJ Brown. If Brown’s here, it is going to be more difficult for Moore to make the team.”

Caplan: “Elijah Moore as inside receiver is very intriguing if he’s even close to what he was with the Jets and the Browns. We just don’t know.”

Cameron Latu

Caplan: “We’ll have to see what (Ryan) Mahaffey thinks of him. He’s still here and can block, no question about that.”

Mosher: “The Niners originally drafted Latu, another guy at this position who has experience in a McVay/Shanahan style offense. We would like to see him get some real good opportunity to show what he can do in this offense as both a blocker and even a little bit of a pass catcher because he was an athletic guy at Alabama.”

Guard

Mosher: “When you’re looking at backup guard, the Eagles always seem to have a guy that they’re ready to put to in there, but right now it’s barren.”

Caplan: “This is where you’d rather get a center/guard. The Eagles have a history of getting multiple positional interior linemen. It’s something I would look for towards training camp.”
