Adam Caplan: “I was not expecting this…As of a week ago, this was not happening. My sense is I have to believe that they were talking about certain things that they could just not agree.”

Geoff Mosher: “I reached out to someone who has ties to the Eagles organization. This person was shocked. They have heard some of the same things about Stoutland’s role, but this person said this guy’s relationship with Jeffery Lurie is so tight that he had a hard time believing that is was going to end abruptly like this.”

Sean Mannion

Caplan: “From a schematic standpoint, things are going to change, they’re running West Coast. From [talking to] someone who has coached in that system, it’s not like you won’t run any gap scheme, but it’s going to be a lot more zone.”

Mosher: “And motion. I think that’s the big thing”

Caplan: “The way were told on Stout and motion is he’s not the only offensive line coach who has an issue with it in terms of angles. Stout just doesn’t like it.”

Kevin Patullo

Caplan: “What we were told is he was actually offered a job to be sort of, I don’t know what the title would be, a chief of staff, it’s just to help Nick (Sirianni) out, which he definitely needs, but more administrative. When he was the passing game coordinator, he did some stuff administratively for Nick.”

QB Coach

Mosher: “The Eagles have talked to two quarterback coach candidates: Greg Olson and a 30-year-old kid from Arizona, Connor Senger. Olson is a guy who has ties to Mannion. He has been coaching in the NFL since 2001 and has been eight different teams and in two spots where Mannion was when he was playing…Senger has no ties to Mannion other than last week, they were both coaching at the East/West Shrine Bowl and Mannion was the offensive coordinator for the East and Senger was the offensive coordinator for the West.”

Caplan: “He is a legendary coach. I know coaches who know him who tell me that he coaches hard…They need someone from a senior standpoint. What they ought to do is get Olson as a senior offensive assistant to help these kids. Nick also needs help. They need older people.”
