Fit for the Scheme?
ITB: Behind the Fred Johnson and Elijah Moore Signings
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to tinker with their offense with a re-signing and a new addition.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the team’s recent signings.

Fred Johnson
Adam Caplan: “They didn’t have a swing tackle, now they have one in Fred Johnson who filled in for Lane Johnson last year and did a good job. He can play right or left tackle. This solves that issue.”
Geoff Mosher: “As we sit here today, he is the swing tackle, but I do have questions on whether or not his strengths are good for this offensive scheme. If they want to do some outside zone stuff, he’s not the guy you would envision being the best for that.”
Chris Kuper
Mosher: “I’m sure Chris Kuper will take guys who can play because he just came from Minnesota. He found out what it’s like when you don’t even have guys who can start, let alone play.”
Elijah Moore
Caplan: “I was a major fan of Elijah Moore. He was so good in his rookie season, was a second round pick for the Jets with Joe Douglas. Then he wasn’t happy and they winded up trading him to the Browns and it just kind of got away from him…He’s a ‘Z’ or he can play slot.”
Mosher: “He signed with the Bills [in 2025] first and made nine appearances, caught nine balls, and then they signed Brandin Cooks and released him. He signed with Denver and was on their practice squad.”
Darius Cooper
Caplan: “I’d worry about Darius Cooper, particularly if AJ (Brown) is here.”
