Dickerson Seen at Start of Practice; McKee Remains Sidelined

PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles on Tuesday held their final of three practices this week, leading up to Thursday’s home opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Left guard Landon Dickerson (back) was participating in team stretches at the start of practice after sitting out Monday’s session. While Dickerson’s status for Thursday remains unclear, the injury report will reveal further clarity. On Monday, in Dickerson’s absence, veteran Brett Toth filled in. Again, it’s important to note that practice is only open to reporters during team stretches on this day, in what was the equivalent of a normal Friday.

In positive news, the knee injury Dickerson sustained during open practice is no longer listed.

Quarterback Tanner McKee (right thumb) was again sporting a bucket hat alongside fellow quarterbacks Jalen Hurts, Sam Howell and Kyle McCord, who worked on separate field during the stretch period. A non-participant for three consecutive days, and cognizant of refraining from using his right hand, all signs point to McKee being sidelined for the opener. McKee’s absence means the newly acquired Sam Howell temporarily elevates to the No. 2 role behind Jalen Hurts.

In other injury news, rookie S Drew Mukuba (hamstring), for the third consecutive day, practiced in some capacity after being sidelined for a couple weeks. His return is encouraging, presumably putting him on track to play Thursday night against Dallas. While it’s assumed third-year pro Sydney Brown gets the initial nod opposite Reed Blankenship, Mukuba, expected to eventually surpass Brown, could see a limited role, perhaps in dime.
