Report: Parks Frazier Expected To Be Named QBs Coach

Birds Move Former Pass Game Coordinator To Position Coach

It appears the Eagles have landed on their next quarterbacks coach, filling the role with a familiar name. According to a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, the Eagles are expected to appoint Parks Frazier as the quarterbacks coach under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

Frazier, 34, originally joined Nick Sirianni’s staff last offseason, serving as the pass game coordinator on the heels of Kevin Patullo’s promotion to offensive coordinator.  Frazier last season presided over an Eagles’ passing game that left much to be desired, though it’s worth noting that Jalen Hurts threw for a career-high 25 touchdowns against just six interceptions.

Frazier’s connection to Sirianni dates back to 2018, when Sirianni served as the Colts’ offensive coordinator. Frazier, at his first NFL coaching destination, held the title of assistant to the head coach and then offensive quality control coach during Sirianni’s three-year run. Frazier, an assistant quarterbacks coach in Indianapolis at the time, also stepped in as the interim offensive coordinator in 2022, when the Colts moved on from head coach Frank Reich.

Prior to his time in Philadelphia, Frazier was as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins and functioned as the Carolina Panthers’ pass game coordinator the previous season.

The position of quarterbacks coach has been a revolving door of sorts for the Eagles of late; Frazier will be the sixth different quarterbacks coach that Hurts has worked with since being drafted into the league in 2020, with Press Taylor, Brian Johnson, Alex Tanney, Doug Nussmeier and Scot Loeffler rounding out the group.

In light of the Mannion hiring, Loeffler’s status had been up in the air, with the team having reportedly interviewed Arizona Cardinals pass game specialist Connor Senger for the job. Another potential name surfaced earlier this month when NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported earlier this month that veteran Greg Olson was someone that Mannion would have interest in.

With Frazier’s expected reassignment, Mannion’s staff appears nearly complete. In addition to Mannion and Frazier, the Eagles will also have a new pass game coordinator (Josh Grizzard), offensive line coach (Chris Kuper) and run game coordinator/tight ends coach (Ryan Mahaffey), while holdovers Jemal Singleton (assistant head coach/running backs coach) and Aaron Moorehead (wide receivers coach) remain entrenched.

The Frazier news notably surfaces a week before the NFL Scouting Combine, meaning the Eagles should have most — if not all — of their prominent pieces in place on the offensive side.
