Birds Back At Practice, Preparing For Bolts

by

PHILADELPHIA – On a chilly Friday afternoon in South Philadelphia, the Eagles held their second practice of the week in preparation for Monday night’s clash with the Chargers in Los Angeles.

Not surprisingly, DT Jalen Carter was a non-participant. He’ll be out for Week 14 after undergoing a procedure Monday on his shoulders and is considered week-to-week. Also, no practice for RT Lane Johnson (foot).

During the media-attended portion of practice, there was no sign of Eagles LG Landon Dickerson, who was not listed on Thursday’s practice report. Filling in for Dickerson was veteran Brett Toth. It’s my understanding Dickerson is just getting rest.

The official report, released later today, will offer further clarity.

Below is the official report from Thursday, when they first convened for practice:

Not practicing were DT Jalen Carter (shoulders), T Lane Johnson (foot).

Limited were LB Zack Baun (hand), WR Jahan Dotson (toe), WR Xavier Gipson (shoulder) and OLB Jaelan Phillips (concussion).

S Marcus Epps (shoulder) and T Myles Hinton (back) were full participants.

Following team warmups, a near practice field is typically divided between punt returners and cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Adoree’ Jackson – who drill with defensive backs coach Christian Parker. On this Friday, however, Eagles quarterbacks worked on that part of the field with position coach Scot Loeffler. Mitchell, Jackson and Parker worked on a separate portion of the field.

(Sort of) new addition to the practice squad

Late Thursday afternoon, the Eagles announced the signing of DE Titus Leo to the practice squad. This marks the third time this season the team has signed Leo, the others being on Oct. 15 and Nov. 13.

Leo, 26, entered the league as a sixth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2023, becoming just the fourth player in the history of Staten Island-based Wagner to be selected. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defender has bounced around – the Eagles are Leo’s fifth NFL team – appearing in four games last season with the New England Patriots.
