Goedert Still Sidelined
Not Looking Good For Eagles TE To Play Vs. KC
PHILADELPHIA – As the Eagles inch closer to their Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs, Thursday’s practice revealed further clarity regarding the status of a few key contributors.
No sign of TE Dallas Goedert (knee) on the field during the media attended portion of practice. This marks the second consecutive day that Goedert has been sidelined, presumably leaving his availability for Sunday in doubt.
Operating under the assumption that Goedert will eventually be ruled out, veteran Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson would be in line for an expanded workload. Without Goedert, the Eagles would be left with a glaring void from a blocking perspective.

Also, in terms of practice squad elevations, third-year pro Cameron Latu is a name to remember. A tight end by trade, Latu, a 2023 third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, switched his jersey number from 87 to 36 – a day after offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo included Latu among the players capable of fulfilling the Ben VanSumeren role on offense.
In other injury news, LG Landon Dickerson (back) again participated in some capacity, an encouraging sign offering optimism regarding his availability Sunday.
Sidelined for a second consecutive day was second-year RB Will Shipley (oblique), who was present but an idle observer. With Shipley removed from the equation, at least for this week, look for fellow running backs A.J. Dillon and Tank Bigsby to see an uptick in usage. Bigsby appears to be the next man up at kick returner.
No throwing again from third-year QB Tanner McKee (right thumb), who remains a non-participant after sustaining his injury late in camp. Sam Howell will step into the No. 2 role behind Jalen Hurts for another week.
Running it back (?)
While teammates were focused on special teams specifics to start the session, off to the side working with defensive backs coach Christian Parker were CBs Quinyon Mitchell and Adoree’ Jackson. Earlier in the week, DC Vic Fangio answered, “Right now, yes,” when asked if the plan was to again start Jackson for another week.
At this stage of the preparation, the fact that Parker was again devoting time to Jackson – coupled with Fangio’s sentiment of giving whomever started opposite Mitchell a “good, long leash” – it appears Jackson will get another opportunity. And, in my opinion, he should.

The Eagles continue to churn the bottom of the roster and their practice squad, so it’s understandable if you missed a move or two amid the frequent shakeup. On Thursday morning, the team inked DT Gabe Hall to the practice squad, after the second-year pro had cleared waivers.
Hall made the Eagles’ 53-man roster out of camp, logging five snaps in the opener. In a corresponding move, DT Jacob Sykes – signed Wednesday – was released from the practice squad.
