Peters, Reagor One Step Closer To Playing

Finally, the Eagles appear to be net positive when it comes to injuries. The team announced Monday that several players, including Jason Peters and Jalen Reagor, were activated off Injured Reserve and into the 21-day practice window. The Eagles have the next three weeks to decide whether or not to add any of them to 53-man roster, which would require a roster move to clear space.

(Jason Peters hasn't played since limping off the field vs. Bengals)

Linebacker T.J. Edwards and safety Rudy Ford joined Peters and Reagor as players who can practice this week and could potentially play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys at the Linc. Per a source, Reagor, the team's first-round pick, has a chance to play against the Cowboys after missing the past four games to recover from left thumb surgery. If he plays, Reagor can help fill the void left by DeSean Jackson's most recent injury. Jackson is out several weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain and slight fracture during his punt return late in the fourth against the Giants last Thursday.

Peters hasn't played since he limped off the field late against the Bengals in Week 3, a 23-23 tie at the Linc. While he's been out, Peters has been replaced by Jordan Mailata, who made his debut against the 49ers the following Sunday has improved enough to hold down the position for the rest of the year. Peters could move back to right guard, the spot he initially re-signed to play and the position he played all throughout training camp. Edwards re-joins an Eagles linebacker corps that's used rookie Shaun Bradley and Duke Riley as a third linebacker, with Alex Singleton and Nate Gerry logging most of the snaps. It'll be interesting to see if Edwards will replace Gerry or Singleton in the team's defense or takes up the third linebacker spot. Edwards should be ready to go against the Cowboys. ITB's Adam Caplan reported on the latest Inside The Birds podcast that Edwards felt well enough to play Thursday night against the Giants, but was still on IR because he hadn't yet missed the requisite three games. Ford is one of the team's fastest players and main contributors to special teams. – Geoff Mosher (@geoffmoshernfl) is co-host of the "Inside the Birds" podcast and staff writer for InsideTheBirds.com.
